Medical-Grade Antimicrobial Masterbatch
Developed to protect plastic components in health care facilities against the proliferation of microorganisms.
ProVital + GermsClean from Ampacet is an additive developed to protect plastic components in health care facilities against the proliferation of microorganisms by blocking the growth of bacteria and slowing down fungi multiplication, preventing the formation of harmful biological layers.
The majority of nosocomial infections are caused by bacteria such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Escherichia coli, Enterococci or by fungi-like Candida. The carriers of nosocomial infections include the hands of medical personnel and bacteria-infested surfaces in health care facilities. For example, plastic surfaces touched by patients and health care workers can act as carriers of pathogenic bacteria, leading to the spread of disease.
Ampacet says ProVital+ GermsClean has been successfully pre-evaluated for biocompatibility and provides full consistency of formulation with a no-change policy for raw materials, with manufacturing under consistent process parameters.
The company says ProVital+ GermsClean offers excellent performance and protection from a wide spectrum of pathogens with a lower addition rate than traditional competitive solutions and with a very low silver content, limiting discoloration.
