Datanomix, maker of the Automated Production Intelligence software platform for machine monitoring, now offers support for monitoring collaborative robots (cobots) from Universal Robots (UR) to provide real-time visibility of cobot performance in an automation cell. Through a new partnership with Flexxbotics of Boston, which describes itself as a “robotic process-improvement company,” Datanomix gains access to real-time operational data for UR cobots via Flexxbotics’ FlexxConnect platform. In cases where a UR cobot serves a CNC or injection molding machine, this partnership provides data on both cobot and primary machine status, cycle time, part counts and run time. In addition, FlexxConnect provides centralized and revision-controlled cobot and primary-machine job management.

As reported in our August Starting Up section, Datanomix offers “hands-free” machine monitoring without operator input. Its system is designed to get up and running “out of the box” within 24 to 48 hr. Founded in 2017, Datanomix has worked mainly with CNC plastic and metal machining operations so far, but is interested in getting into injection molding as well.
